Hostinger vs DreamHost (March 2025) – “Surprising Results”

Hostinger
DreamHost Review Rating

In this comparison of Hostinger vs DreamHost, we take a detailed look at two quality web hosts that offer both affordable and advanced hosting plans to fit all types of websites. And, Hostinger and DreamHost also feature website builders for faster and easier website creation. So, which one of these hosts should you choose? Let’s take a look.

Hostinger vs DreamHost: Features

Hostinger and DreamHost are somewhat similar when it comes to the structure of their hosting plans. On the plus side for Hostinger, you can host up to 100 websites (300 with their Cloud Startup Plan), managed WordPress features are included, you get their AI website builder, and you have a greater selection of data centers to choose from. Hostinger also includes email hosting with all of their plans, while with DreamHost you need to opt for their Shared Unlimited plan or pay an additional fee.

On the other hand, with DreamHost you do get automated daily backups with all plans. With Hostinger, you’ll need to get either their Business or Cloud hosting plan for daily backups. Otherwise, only weekly backups are included free.

Although it’s fairly close here, we would give Hostinger the advantage in the hosting features category.

Hostinger vs DreamHost: Differences

Advantages of Hostinger over DreamHost:

  • Lower Cost
  • Lower Renewal Rates
  • Host up to 100 Websites
  • Faster Website Performance
  • More Responsive Customer Support
  • Includes AI Website Builder

Advantages of DreamHost over Hostinger:

  • 97 Day Money Back Guarantee
  • Recommended by WordPress.org

Hostinger vs DreamHost: WordPress

Both Hostinger and DreamHost are excellent choices for WordPress Hosting. DreamHost is recommended by WordPress.org and offers both basic and managed WordPress Hosting plans, while Hostinger includes managed WordPress features in all of their Shared Hosting plans. Here, it’s a question of how advanced or what level of WordPress features you need with your hosting.

If you need higher premium level features such as isolated resources, one-click staging, and NGINX, then you may want to consider DreamHost’s DreamPress hosting. However, for most WordPress users, the WordPress features you get with Hostinger are more than enough—and they cost much less.

Hostinger vs DreamHost: Website Speed

We were a bit surprised by the results in our testing. Although DreamHost has improved their performance, Hostinger was the clear winner in our website speed testing. Hostinger provided better speed and page loading as well as better core web vitals. Note here that our head to head testing consisted of the Shared Hosting plans from both of these hosts. DreamHost’s managed WordPress Hosting results may differ. However, in this comparison Hostinger comes out on top.

While both Hostinger and DreamHost support teams delivered helpful assistance, in our experience Hostinger was consistently more responsive and timely in answering questions and providing issue resolutions. So while it is a close call in this category, Hostinger does get the edge.
