Here is our annual list of recommendations for web hosting this year. No matter what category your websites fit under, you should be able to get excellent web hosting with these hosts.
Business Web Hosting
InMotion Hosting
While there are some other impressive Business Web Hosting plans available, InMotion Hosting continues to be our recommended pick. The premium features included have always been impressive. But now, InMotion has added even more such as SSDs, pre-installation of WordPress or Joomla, SSH access, choice of MySQL or PostgreSQL, safe application rollback, and more. Plus, InMotion has continued to improve and upgrade their data center. We continue to enjoy outstanding performance from InMotion Hosting.
Budget Web Hosting
iPage
Namecheap
We have two recommendations in this category. Although their sale prices are not quite as low as they once were, iPage continues to be a great budget web hosting choice. Their hosting plan is full of great features that others charge much more for. Namecheap is also a great value for those that are on a tighter budget.
Managed WordPress Hosting
WP Engine
SiteGround
There have been many new entries into the managed WordPress hosting field. And, some of them are quite impressive. But, we like WP Engine and SiteGround for personal or small business WordPress sites needing managed hosting. For enterprise level WordPress hosting, we recommend WP Engine.
Beginner Web Hosting
Web Hosting Hub
iPage
Yes, beginners could go with SquareSpace or Wix.com. However, we still prefer using a traditional web host. Web Hosting Hub is great for those starting out as they not only provide you with a detailed startup guide, but they will also walk you through the setup process over the phone. They also provide excellent features with their hosting plan as well as outstanding support. If you need a cheaper solution starting out, we like iPage.
Shared Web Hosting
SiteGround
GreenGeeks
Here is another category that could easily have quite a few entries. For general Shared Hosting, we like both SiteGround and GreenGeeks. With these two web hosts, you get all the features you need for hosting multiple sites, as well as excellent performance.
VPS Web Hosting
InMotion Hosting
Bluehost
Both InMotion Hosting and Bluehost have very impressive VPS hosting packages at reasonable prices. If your Shared Hosting plan resources are maxing out, you may want to consider upgrading to VPS.
Dedicated Web Hosting
InMotion Hosting
We also like InMotion for Dedicated Web Hosting. I’ve seen for myself some of the top of the line hardware they use at the data center. And, Will Miles the Data Center Operations Supervisor recently informed us that they have also upgraded their dedicated servers to include the new solid state drives.
Domain Name Management
GoDaddy
Namecheap
And finally, for 2016 our recommendations for domain name management continue to be GoDaddy and Namecheap. Both of these hosts do a great job in managing your domain names whether you have your web hosting with them or with another company.
