GreenGeeks VPS Hosting is a winner from the start, as they have one of the quickest provision times we’ve experienced. Very soon after you place your order, your VPS will be up and running for you to use. You’ll receive your welcome email with all of your account information.

There was a bit of confusion as the welcome email states that you have to request licensing for your cPanel and set the reverse DNS for your VPS IP address. In my case the reverse DNS was already set up, and when I notified Support about cPanel licensing, they informed me that the license was already enabled.

You can access WebHost Manager (WHM) from your GreenGeeks Dashboard. On the negative side, unlike with their Shared Hosting, you cannot access cPanel here. You have to create a new account within WHM to actually use cPanel. For a Managed VPS Plan, we would like to see the cPanel process simplified.

Speed and Performance

With GreenGeeks VPS Hosting, website performance has been solid. Speed has been acceptable, though we can’t say spectacular. Our testing results have shown that GreenGeeks VPS is about on par with their Shared Hosting when it comes to page speed times. However, remember that the key benefit of VPS Hosting is having dedicated resources to handle spikes in activity, so that your site continues to remain accessible to potential customers.

Customer Support

I’m very pleased to report that unlike some other hosting companies, GreenGeeks customer support response times remain super quick, with the support agents very helpful and courteous. With other web hosts, I’ve often experienced inconsistent support. But GreenGeeks customer support has always been and is still excellent in all respects.

Recommendation

I’ve used GreenGeeks Shared Hosting plan for years with great results. And now that I’ve tested their VPS Hosting, I would definitely recommend their VPS packages for businesses considering a virtual private server. I would point out that it would be beneficial if you or someone on your team does have some experience working with file transfers and server admin. GreenGeeks managed VPS does leave some tasks for you to do on your own. However, you can always use their excellent customer support agents to help you out—as I have. That being said, the website performance you get along with the other features do make GreenGeeks VPS Hosting one of the better options available.
