This comparison between InMotion Hosting and Fat Cow is truly one of the easiest we’ve ever done. Having had personal experience using both of these web hosts, I can tell you that for me, InMotion is the far superior choice. In fact, one of the only times I ever cancelled my account within the first few days was when I tried out Fat Cow hosting.
While InMotion Hosting provides excellent hosting features, cPanel interface, outstanding customer support, and great website performance, the same couldn’t be said for Fat Cow. First, when I signed up there were certain extra features costing more money that were pre-selected on the order screen. It turned out to be a hassle trying to get these services cancelled and the charges reversed. Also, I’ve got to say that the customer support at Fat Cow was very disappointing.
Although Fat Cow does have a very low initial cost, be aware that their renewal rates will be significantly higher. I also wasn’t a big fan of their control panel interface—though graphical, not nearly as useful as cPanel.
InMotion Hosting has also continuously upgraded and improved their hosting services with features such as solid stated drives, pre-installation of WordPress or Joomla, and, in addition to live chat support, they also feature support via Skype.
