In some huge news for the WordPress community, it was announced today that WP Engine has acquired StudioPress. WP Engine is the ultimate solution for premium managed WordPress hosting, and StudioPress offers some of the best WordPress themes available. These are two companies that I personally use, and I’m very excited about this news.
The addition of StudioPress themes built on the Genesis Framework is a huge addition to WP Engine’s Digital Experience Platform. And, it’s also great news for customers of WP Engine, as they will be including StudioPress themes free with their hosting plans! According to David Vogelpohl, VP of Web Strategy at WP Engine, “In the fall, WPE customers will be getting all the StudioPress themes with their WPE plans.” The exception would be for 3rd party themes in the StudioPress marketplace. These will not be included in the offer.
Current StudioPress customers will retain all the existing benefits they have with the StudioPress products they have already purchased.
WP Engine has always strived to provide the best WordPress hosting performance and support for their customers. So, the inclusion of StudioPress themes (some of the most efficiently coded themes available) with their hosting is a great fit—allowing your WordPress sites to run even better. It’s a great bonus for WordPress site owners as you can now get outstanding managed WordPress hosting and WordPress themes in one package without having to pay extra fees!
