A2 Hosting was consistently one of our top rated web hosting providers. It’s now been well over a year since they were acquired by Hosting.com. So are things better or worse here in 2026? In this review, we’ll go over not only how hosting.com performs, but also how it compares with what you used to get with A2 Hosting.

Hosting.com Pricing and Plans
The biggest change with HostingCom are in the features and value area. Whereas with A2 Hosting, you could get unlimited website hosting, the Shared Hosting plans are now capped at 1, 2, 10, and 100 sites. Also, unlike A2, HostingCom does not include a CDN, website staging, and a Turbo server option with their Shared Hosting. You’ll need to opt for their Managed WordPress plans for these features.
Hosting.com Website Speed and Performance
Because we focus foremost on website speed and performance by a hosting provider, I’m happy to report that Hosting.com is still delivering excellent results. In our testing, page loading times and Core Web Vitals remain impressive.

Hosting.com Data Centers
Hosting.com has data centers in the U.S. (Dallas, TX), Europe (London, UK; Frankfurt DE), and Asia (Singapore). It’s always great to have more data center location options–as we’ve seen how much of an effect it can have on your website speed. And remember, with Hosting.com you can choose your data center location at sign up time. Together with their optimized environment, Hosting.com’s multiple data center locations give you the opportunity for faster performing websites.
How Do You Sign Up for Hosting.com?
The signup process for Hosting.com is very easy. After selecting your billing cycle and entering your account information, you are presented with a number of options you can select. The two main points to keep in mind here are to be sure and select the data center closest to your area (US, Europe, or Asia),
and remember that although the optional services are definitely useful, they will cost you more money. I do appreciate that Hosting.com does not pre-select any of these additional cost items—like some other web hosts do.
Another great thing about the signup process at Hosting.com is that you can pay your bill via PayPal, credit card, or check. It takes very little time to sign up, and almost instantaneously you’ll receive a group of emails including a welcome email, order confirmation, installation details, and your welcome email containing your account details (website and admin URLs, nameservers, ftp information, etc.).
Great cPanel Hosting
With Hosting.com, you get cPanel and the Softaculous software installer. You can easily access it from your Hosting.com Client Area account page. You’ll then be able to access all of your important website functions—including the premium features that you get with Hosting.com. Among cPanel web hosting providers, Hosting.com is one of the very best.
Hosting.com’s Premium Features
While all of Hosting.com’s plans are impressive, their Turbo Server plan is quite possibly the best we’ve seen in this price range. Take a look at some of the features you get.
- Faster Page Loading (Up to 20x)
- Fewer Users on Each Server
- More Resources per User
- Optimized Site Accelerators
- Railgun Optimizer
- WordPress LiteSpeed Cache
- WooCommerce LiteSpeed Cache
What Bonus Features Do You Get with Hosting.com?
- Perpetual Security with HackScan Protection
- Automatic Data Backups
- Free Site Migration
Is Hosting.com Good?
I’m very impressed with the Hosting.com Optimized WordPress Hosting. When you sign up, WordPress is pre-installed and automatically configured for faster performance. When you login to your WordPress Admin, you can click on the Optimized tab to see the status of each configuration and make changes if necessary.
Hosting.com Optimization Includes:
- Page Caching
- Database Caching
- Object Caching
- Browser Caching
- Minify HTML Pages
- Minify CSS Files
- Minify JS Files
- Gzip Compression
- Compress Images
- And More
The Hosting.com Optimized WP plugin incorporates other plugins such as W3 Total Cache and EWWW Image Optimizer. In fact, your Hosting.com WordPress installation includes the following plugins:
Extra Security Protection
Website security is more important than ever these days. And Hosting.com provides perpetual security with their free HackScan protection, dual firewall, brute force defense, virus scanning, and security monitoring. But that’s not all they provide. With their Patchman Enhanced Security Tool, software vulnerabilities and malware can be detected and the appropriate action taken. I’m definitely impressed with Hosting.com’s security features.
VPS Hosting Plans
Hosting.com has also revamped their lineup of VPS Hosting plans. The new faster VPS Hosting packages include fully managed Linux servers, 20x faster performance, and a 99.99% uptime guarantee. Plus, you get a similar environment and benefits of a dedicated server at a much lower cost. You get your own allocated resources that give you more scalability, control, and customization.
Hosting.com Customer Support
Hosting.com provides 24/7/365 customer support via live chat, support ticket, phone, and email. And, I’m pleased to report that live chat connection and response times are now much improved. During the initial conversion from A2 Hosting to Hosting.com, it was taking longer to connect with a live support agent. In the following months, customers were notified that Hostng.com was aware of the delays and working diligently on a solution. True to their word, it appears that Hosting.com has indeed vastly improved response times. I recently contacted Hosting.com live chat support and was very pleased with the results.
Recommendation
Contrary to some reports, I found Hosting.com’s website speed and performance to be excellent, and their customer support very responsive and helpful. It is unfortunate that they have cut or eliminated some features in their Shared Hosting plans. However, we’ve found the same cuts happening with other web hosts as well.
For high speed hosting or WordPress sites, Hosting.com is a great choice. Based on my experience, they provide hosting plans with the important features you’ll need for your site. The combination of their server platforms, optimized WordPress environment, and excellent customer support makes them a top web hosting provider.

Hosting.com is a very unreliable company, all clients have issues, we lost over tahn 10 clients after A2 was purchased by hosting.com. Servers are slow, downtime is constant, ticket replies are slow. Not recommended at all!
Hi Nick,
Yes, there has been a drop off in features/value. However, my experience hasn’t been quite as bad. Will continue to research this and update the ratings accordingly. Thanks!
