Should you go with Bluehost or Namecheap? In this comparison of Bluehost vs Namecheap, we take a look at the advantages each has to offer as well as how well they perform. Most people are probably more familiar with Bluehost. They are now part of the Endurance International Group. Namecheap is an independent web host specializing in low cost hosting solutions. Let’s see which one you should choose.

Bluehost and Namecheap both offer cPanel hosting. However, Bluehost has their own customized cPanel implementation that we prefer. We also like that Bluehost includes free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates. By contrast, Namecheap provides PositiveSSL certificates but only for the first year. Namecheap does have better automated data backup functionality. However, Bluehost does have nightly backups and you can restore from the last 30 days free. While it’s a close call here, I would give Bluehost the advantage.

If you need WordPress hosting, then Bluehost is the winner here. Although you can get quality WordPress hosting at Namecheap, Bluehost is recommended by WordPress.org. Bluehost makes the WordPress website process much easier for beginners. They not only pre-install WordPress for you, they also guide you through selecting your theme and functionality. Plus, Bluehost includes their own customized WordPress dashboard. And, Bluehost not only includes automated updates, but you also get website staging as well.

Website speed and performance is very close between these two web hosts. A couple of things to note with Bluehost, Cloudflare CDN capability is included as well as scalability if you need more power. It’s very close here. I give a slight edge to Bluehost in the speed and performance category due to the reasons above.

I like the customer support I’ve received at both Bluehost and Namecheap. Response times are very good and the support agents do a good job. However, because Bluehost provides 24/7 phone, email, and live chat support, They’re the winner in this category.
