Kinsta vs SiteGround: Features

While both Kinsta and SiteGround include all the necessary premium features you need for WordPress hosting, in this category I give the edge to Kinsta.

First off, Kinsta offers 34 different data center locations you can choose for your websites. And, although Kinsta and SiteGround both provide optimized environments for WordPress speed and performance, we prefer Kinsta’s platform powered by Google Cloud together with their CDN and Cloudflare integration. See below for more on website speed and performance.

Kinsta also includes Auto Wildcard SSL, an easier to use account dashboard, and better website staging in our opinion. Therefore, in this category Kinsta is the winner.

Kinsta vs SiteGround: Speed and Performance

Kinsta and SiteGround are two of the best hosting providers for website speed and performance. With Kinsta, you get Kinsta’s server-level full page caching and the Kinsta CDN, powered by their High Performance Cloud Infrastructure. SiteGround includes their SuperCacher Technology along with their own CDN and their Speed Optimizer plugin.

In our testing, both Kinsta and SiteGround performed well, with SiteGround being the surprise winner. SiteGround’s page loading times and core web vitals were actually consistently a little better than Kinsta’s. See some of our testing results below:

Kinsta vs SiteGround: Website Staging

Kinsta and SiteGround both provide excellent website staging functionality. However, with Kinsta you get staging with all of their hosting plans, with SiteGround you do not (only the GrowBig and GoGeek plans). However, I did find SiteGround’s staging to be just a bit easier to use. So, in this category, we’ll have to call it a tie.

Kinsta vs SiteGround: Data Backup

Data backup and restore is another area that both Kinsta and SiteGround perform well in. There are pros and cons with both hosts here. SiteGround does keep the last 30 copies of backup data, while Kinsta provides 14 copies of daily backup data retention. However, with Kinsta you can create manual data backups will all plans, while SiteGround includes on demand backups with their upper level plans only.

Kinsta also provides automatic system backups when you perform tasks such as updating plugins and themes. And, if you need more backup data retention or more frequent backups, you can purchase the extra service with Kinsta.

In this category, again I’ll give a slight edge to Kinsta.

Kinsta vs SiteGround: Customer Support

Kinsta and SiteGround both excel when it comes to providing expert WordPress customer support. Response times and issue resolution is equally impressive with both of these web hosts. At one time, SiteGround was ahead of everyone in this category. However, in recent years they have dropped back to the pack—still offering good support, but not as consistent as they once were.

Therefore, in this category Kinsta is the winner.

This comparison of Kinsta vs SiteGround is extremely close. Both of these WordPress hosts do an excellent job across the board. However, in this comparison, Kinsta is the winner.

For managed WordPress hosting, Kinsta is definitely the standard for all hosts to match. Kinsta’s premium features, outstanding performance, and expert customer support makes them the best choice here. And, Kinsta is particularly the better choice for WordPress agencies and developers.

SiteGround is better suited for beginners that are less experienced with WordPress websites. SiteGround’s WordPress Starter allows newbies to quickly and easily create WordPress websites.
