GoDaddy is certainly much better known than InterServer. But how do their web hosting plans really compare? While we like GoDaddy’s domain name management services, when it comes to web hosting, it might not always be better to go with the big dog. Here’s how these two web hosts stack up against each other.
While GoDaddy offers quite an assortment of web hosting plans, you’ll need to spend quite a bit more money to get an equivalent package to InterServer’s Standard Hosting plan. And with InterServer, renewal rates are the same price you pay for your initial term, so you can save even more money.
With both InterServer and GoDaddy, you get cPanel hosting with WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and many other applications available for your website. And, both feature a 99.9% uptime guarantee plus a 30 day money back guarantee. When it comes to speed and performance, both of these web hosts have performed well. I would give a slight edge to InterServer.
I definitely have to give the edge to InterServer when it comes to customer support. First of all, their live chat support is available 24/7; while GoDaddy’s live chat is not. Also, I’ve had more consistently good interactions with InterServer’s support agents, whereas with GoDaddy it can be a toss-up.
GoDaddy has the advantage of being the largest domain name registrar. So you do get a free domain for the initial term of your hosting account. They are probably also better suited for complete beginners that need a little more guidance when starting out. However, in most cases we would recommend InterServer in this comparison.
