InMotion and InterServer both have their own datacenters. InMotion has datacenters on both the west and east coast, while InterServer has two datacenters in New Jersey. While I’ve enjoyed great speed and performance from both of these web hosts, because InMotion Hosting utilizes their Max Speed Zone Technology along with their datacenters on both coasts, speed and page loading times seem to be more consistent in all areas.

Both of these web hosting companies provide the cPanel interface along with their equally intuitive and easy to use account control panels. Signing up for hosting is very easy with both companies. InterServer accepts PayPal as payment, which we appreciate. On the other hand, InMotion provides a bit more assistance with getting you set up. And, if you want a WordPress or Joomla site, they will pre-install it for you.

The hosting plans from InMotion and InterServer are packed with impressive features. Both of these web hosts use top quality hardware including SSD servers. In addition to unlimited disk space and data transfer, you also get automated data backup. InMotion Hosting runs backups every 24 to 36 hours as opposed to the weekly backups that InterServer performs. You also get free data restore. InMotion gives you one free restore per four months, while InterServer doesn’t charge to restore.

The customer support at both InMotion and InterServer is great. I give a slight edge here to InMotion based on faster overall response time and the addition of Skype based support. The support agents at both companies are extremely professional and courteous. As for money back guarantees, InMotion comes out on top offering a 90 day period as compared to InterServer’s 30 day refund period.

These two companies are both outstanding choices for web hosting. I would recommend InMotion Hosting for business websites and for those website owners that may need a bit more assistance getting setup (i.e. pre-installation of WordPress, etc.). If you need multiple website hosting at a lower price, then you’ll want to check out InterServer.
