I have personal experience as a customer with both of these web hosts. Bluehost is certainly the better known of the two. However, they are both viable choices for web hosting—especially WordPress. Previously, InterServer took the honors in this head to head comparison, but Bluehost has since made some noteworthy improvements to their hosting plans. So, it’s time for another look at InterServer vs Bluehost.
InterServer’s Standard Hosting plan lets you host unlimited domains along with providing unlimited disk space and data transfer. The cost for their hosting plan is $5 mo. or less depending on the length of your term. And, with InterServer’s price lock guarantee, there isn’t the huge price increases when it comes time to renew your account. You pay the same price.
By contrast, with Bluehost your renewal fees are higher however you can sign up for your initial term at a lower cost (e.g. $2.95 mo.). Both Bluehost and InterServer rate high on the value meter. If price is your main concern, then InterServer is a better fit. On the other hand, Bluehost includes more premium features that you may need.
Previously, InterServer actually outperformed Bluehost in this category. However, with the recent improvements by Bluehost, they now provide superior website page loading speeds and better core web vitals.
In the past, customer support was about the same with InterServer and Bluehost. We like that there is 24/7 support available—even with live chat. The support agents at both of these companies have been very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
Again, this is another area where Bluehost has really stepped up their game. Customer support response time at Bluehost is now much faster. In fact, the average wait time is about 4 seconds! That’s a very impressive improvement. So, in this category, Bluehost is also the winner.
