Should you choose WPX Hosting or Bluehost for your WordPress websites? In this comparison of WPX Hosting vs Bluehost, we take a detailed look at how WPX Hosting stacks up against both Bluehost’s shared hosting and optimized WordPress hosting.
Bluehost is one of the most well-known and established web hosts that is also recommended by WordPress.org. WPX Hosting is one of the most innovative WordPress web hosts that emphasizes faster performing websites, a better hosting interface, and more responsive customer support.
Here’s how they match up head to head.
Advantages of WPX Hosting over Bluehost:
Advantages of Bluehost over WPX Hosting:
Although Bluehost’s shared hosting includes the important features you want for your WordPress websites, their WP Pro optimized WordPress hosting does offer more advanced options. And while both Bluehost hosting plan lines are impressive, WPX Hosting does offer more premium WordPress hosting features.
While Bluehost can be effectively used for all types of WordPress sites, I tend to recommend them for newer users and beginners. If you’re looking for the better set of premium features for advanced or established WordPress sites, then WPX Hosting is the better fit.
Bluehost has definitely improved their website speed in our recent testing. However, WPX Hosting combines their optimized web servers together with their custom high-speed content delivery network (which they own) to produce even better results.
In our testing and my experience, WPX Hosting did post faster website speed and page loading times. In fact, WPX Hosting is one of the fastest web hosts in the industry. So, in this category WPX Hosting is definitely the winner.
See some of our sample speed test results from GTmetrix below:
While Bluehost has definitely made improvements to their customer support, there have been reports that results may be mixed. Some people say the wait times have increased. Personally, I haven’t had that problem. And, the Bluehost team has always been responsive.
However, because WPX Hosting has made customer support one of their top priorities, they have an average live chat response time of under 30 seconds. I’m very impressed with the customer support team at WPX, and I have had all positive experiences. The WPX support staff has always been courteous and eager to provide assistance whenever I’ve contacted them.
So, while I would also give Bluehost a thumbs up, in this category WPX Hosting is the winner.
