In this comparison of iPage vs Bluehost, we take a look at two of the better web hosts under the Newfold Digital umbrella. It’s been a very close comparison over the years. However, with Bluehost now offering many additional WordPress features, it’s definitely time for an updated head to head look at these two web hosting companies.
Both iPage and Bluehost offer Shared, VPS, and Dedicated hosting plans. This web hosting comparison focuses on shared hosting. While iPage offers one feature packed hosting plan, Bluehost has three different levels for you to choose from. iPage has one of the most economical plans out there. However, with Bluehost you now get a lot of premium features—especially for WordPress users.
Both iPage and Bluehost provide easy to use graphical user interfaces. iPage has their own control panel while Bluehost includes their customized version of cPanel. Personally, I prefer cPanel. Additionally, WordPress users will appreciate Bluehost’s customized WordPress dashboard along with the Bluehost account control panel. You’ll easily be able to locate important WordPress functions in order to build and maintain your website. So, regarding account control panels and interfaces, Bluehost is the winner.
iPage and Bluehost both give you some nice extras with your hosting. With iPage you get SiteLock Security plus Google and Bing ad credits. Bluehost includes free Let’s Encrypt SSL and SiteLock CDN.
While website speed and performance is pretty close between these two web hosts, the recent improvements at Bluehost which includes advanced caching make Bluehost the winner in this category.
As both Bluehost and iPage are part of the Endurance International Group, the customer support departments are very similar. You can get 24/7 support by phone, email, or live chat. In the past, the response time for chat support at Bluehost was on the slow side. However, here is another area where they have made some significant improvements. I’ve been able to connect with Bluehost support at multiple times within about 4 seconds. They’ve also provided helpful and effective resolutions or answers to my questions. So in the customer support category, Bluehost is now the winner.
