HostGator has been in business since 2002 and offers a wide array of web hosting services. There are three levels of shared hosting plans which all come with cPanel and can be used for blogging all the way up to business sites. At one time, HostGator was one of the top rated web hosts. However, there was then period where there support and service didn’t seem as good as it once was. Lately though I have heard some HostGator customers who seem to be happy with their results, so hopefully they are now back on track.
HostGator is somewhat disappointing when it comes to overall website speed. Website page loading is not bad, but they rank below the faster web hosts that we’ve tested. They also do not include a CDN with all of their hosting plans.
Although HostGator offers a wide variety of web hosting plans, they may not be the best choice for some website owners. Here are some alternative options.
A2 Hosting includes superior features, faster website performance, and better value for WordPress and other types of websites.
GreenGeeks not only provides faster performing websites and more responsive customer support, but they also specialize in Green Web Hosting practices to help our environment.
InMotion Hosting is a top choice for business website hosting—with superior features, website performance, and customer support.
