Ever wonder how resource intensive your website really is? Well, if you’re an InMotion Hosting customer with one of their Business Hosting plans, you’ll now be able to tell how much CPU resources your website is using on a daily or monthly basis. InMotion has announced that starting in mid-April, there will be a new tool available via cPanel which will present the information via graphs.
To access this new tool, you simply go to the Logs section in cPanel and click the Resource Usage icon. You’ll then see two graphs—one showing your daily CPU usage and another showing the current month’s usage. As long as you are below the 100% usage line, you’re fine.
Monitoring your CPU usage can be very important to alert you that it may be time to upgrade to VPS or a dedicated server. Also, if you constantly exceed the CPU limits, you may receive a warning or have your account temporarily suspended.
