InMotion Hosting Customer Support Site Review

Last week we compared seven web hosting customer support sites and discussed the features available to you. Now let’s take a closer look at InMotion Hosting’s support site which I think is one of the most comprehensive out there.

When you visit InMotion’s Support Center, you’ll be pleased that the topics most users need assistance with are quickly addressed, as links to tutorials and frequently asked questions are provided up front (above the fold). For example, if you need help with things like your ftp settings, installing WordPress, or uploading your files, simply click on the appropriate link and you can access a detailed help document.

Email and Website Tutorials
Scrolling further down the Support Center page, you’ll find separate tutorial sections on getting started with your email and setting up your website.

Domain Names and Community Support
Next, there is a separate section on domain name support. Here you can learn more about registering, transferring and configuring your domain names. There are also video tutorials included.

You can also access the Community Support area. If you’re not able to find an answer to your question in the Customer Support section, you can ask your question here and get a guaranteed response during business hours Monday thru Friday. In addition to the InMotion Hosting staff, other experienced users can also join in and offer helpful suggestions.

Education Channels
The next section of the Support Center is probably my favorite: the Education Channels. Think of these channels like mini online courses where you can learn all about topics such as cPanel, Joomla, WordPress, website design, and more. Each Education Channel is divided into three areas: A section of 100 and 200 level tutorials for beginners; a set of Most Popular Articles containing tips and information often with illustrations or videos; and a section of 300 level advanced tutorials on more specific topics for advanced users.

Tools and Resources
And finally, there is an area containing helpful tools and resources you can use for your website. The favicon generator and domain routing tool have been very helpful to me.

The InMotion Hosting Support Center contains a ton of helpful information. And, if you still need further assistance, there are contact links at the bottom of the Support Center pages where you can access live chat support, email the support staff, or open a support ticket.
