Arvixe vs. GoDaddy

How does Arvixe stack up against the big dog GoDaddy? Here’s how—actually very well. While Arvixe may not be as well-known as GoDaddy, they also provide a full range of web hosting plans for all types of websites. GoDaddy has the advantage of offering their industry leading domain name management services. However, when it comes to actual web hosting, Arvixe may prove to be a better choice for you.

Both Arvixe and GoDaddy offer low introductory web hosting packages. Although both of these web hosts offer low introductory hosting plans, Arvixe’s hosting plan is cheaper and provides more features that would cost you extra elsewhere. For example, even Arvixe’s Personal Plan allows you to host multiple websites and you get a free domain for as long as you have your hosting there.

As a customer of both GoDaddy and Arvixe, I can say that both of these web hosting companies have provided quality performance and support. In terms of uptime, customer support, and user interfaces, it’s a very close call—with both providing good results. I do like how Arvixe allows you to select your server location, and as far as website speed, my Arvixe site does seem to run faster.

UPDATE: However, as of August 2016, we would recommend GoDaddy over Arvixe. Be aware that Arvixe now has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. They also seem to automatically renew your account some 15 days before the end of your term. And, if you try to get a refund, it can be a hassle.
