Arvixe vs. DreamHost

Here’s a very interesting comparison between two very diverse web hosting companies. Between DreamHost and Arvixe, just about any kind of web hosting plan you could imagine is available. For our comparison here we’ll focus on the shared hosting plans of both.

Arvixe and DreamHost both provide great features with their hosting plans. There are some similarities between the two offerings as well as certain advantages each offers with their hosting. Both give you a free domain for as long as you keep your hosting plan. And, Arvixe and DreamHost also include unlimited storage and bandwidth as well as unlimited email.

On the plus side for DreamHost, you get to host as many websites as you need, and you also get a longer money back guarantee. On the other hand, Arvixe has a better control panel interface (cPanel) in my opinion. Also, website performance at Arvixe has been better for me than at DreamHost. And, while both Arvixe and DreamHost have low introductory prices, currently the renewal prices at Arvixe remain the same. However, your renewal price at DreamHost will be higher.

UPDATE: As of August 2016, we now recommend DreamHost over Arvixe. Arvixe now has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. And, their automatic renewal process leaves a lot to be desired if you request a refund.
