iPage has proven to me that you can get quality web hosting at a cheaper price. I’ve been using them to host some of my sites for a while now, and I’ve got to say I have been very pleased. iPage hosting is great for first time website owners as well as experienced webmasters. They offer a single plan that gives you unlimited space, bandwidth, email, and the ability to host an unlimited number of domains. Their web interface is very easy to use—similar to cPanel. And, the few times I’ve contacted customer support, their tech people have been helpful and courteous. I’ve written a more detailed review on iPage here.
Best of all for those currently on a tight budget, iPage offers one of the best introductory deals. Currently, you can get your first three months of hosting for only $1.99 mo. The rest of your two or three year hosting plan costs you only $2.95 mo. For the features you get, I think they are certainly worth checking out.
You do get some nice extras with your iPage hosting account too. First, Google Webmaster Tools is integrated into your control panel so you get easy access to help with your SEO. If you have a business site, you can use the Site Lock Security Suite you get free. Also included with your plan is a free toll-free phone number and yp.com listing for your business. There are also two different website builders which I haven’t yet used. And you get some search engine and social media advertising credits which are becoming pretty standard with a lot of web hosting plans these days.
Any negatives? For me, only two minor things that may or may not bother you. Every now and then when you log in, you are presented with an upgrade or upsell offer. It doesn’t happen that often though. Also, if you have multiple sites with iPage, the stats in Webalizer and AWStats will be combined for all sites. If you mainly use Google Analytics or some other statistics software, it probably won’t matter that much.
Here’s a comprehensive list of iPage features from their website.
