iPage continues to be a good budget web hosting option. Their web hosting plan includes many free extras that others will charge you for. And, we have been pleased with their customer support which has been very responsive and accessible. The iPage control panel is very good. Not only do you get access to support links, web site preferences, email options, file management, logs, security, domains, databases, and software services—but you also get ready access to website builders, traffic and account statistics, and account information.
Custom User-Friendly Interface
iPage has their own custom control panel as their interface. If you’re familiar with cPanel, it is very similar. In fact, it’s probably a little more user friendly for those less experienced webmasters. You can click on an item to launch it or use the drop down menus at the top of the page.
There is also a great shortcuts panel on the right side where you can quickly access your most frequent tasks.
Network Speed and Server Uptime with iPage
Many web hosting companies boast of their uptime guarantees and server speed. These claims may or may not be true. In the past with some providers, I have had speed issues with sites as well as having to endure some server down time. Website uptime has never been a problem with iPage. However, I have to admit that lately speed and performance have not been quite as good as it once was. On the plus side, you can see from the screen shot below, I’ve not had any site/server errors to deal with:
iPage Provides Excellent Bonuses Including SEO Tools
I really like all of the free extras I get with my iPage hosting plan. These added features can help your business grow online. Some of the great stuff you get includes:
$100 in Google AdWords Credit
$100 in Bing/Yahoo Search Credit
1GB Cloud Storage
Free Toll-Free Phone Number (U.S.)
Free Business Listing in Yellowpages.com
And best of all, they also integrate Google Webmaster Tools into their control panel to help promote your site and get better search engine rankings.
iPage Customer Support Very Helpful
On those occasions when I’ve contacted the iPage Support Department, the support staff has been very helpful and have resolved any issues or questions I have had. I prefer to use the live chat support option, and the response time is pretty good. On some occasions, there is a bit of a wait. Here is an actual transcript from one of my sessions:
You are now chatting with ‘Valerian Keith’
Valerian Keith: Hi, how are you today?
Mike: Hi Valerian.
Valerian Keith: How can I help you today?
Mike: How do I access and activate the autoresponder email feature?
Valerian Keith: In order to create Autoresponder, please follow the steps given below:
Valerian Keith: 1. Log into the control panel with account username and password.
Valerian Keith: 2. Click on ‘MailCentral’ under ‘Email’.
Valerian Keith: 3. Click on ‘Edit’ link in front of the email address.
Valerian Keith: 4. Under the ‘Autoresponder’ section, enter the automated response.

Mike: Okay. Got it. Thanks!
Mike: I have one more question.
Valerian Keith: You’re welcome!
Valerian Keith: Okay.
Valerian Keith: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
Mike: I noticed on my control panel on the right there are short cut links to access my website, email, etc. How do I activate these? Are they set after I set up the site and email accounts?
Valerian Keith: Yes, they will set after you set up the site and email accounts.
Mike: Great. Thanks! You’ve been very helpful.
