WP Engine Adds Transferable Installs

Attention WordPress Designers and Developers: Now there’s another reason to use WP Engine for your WordPress hosting. Already considered the standard for managed WP hosting by many in the WordPress community, WP Engine has now added Transferable Installs to their Personal, Professional, and Business hosting plans.

One of the things that may have discouraged some WordPress professionals from going with WP Engine as a host is that you were previously limited to the number of installs allowed by your hosting plan (i.e. 1 site for Personal, 10 for Professional, etc.). Therefore if you had say, the Personal Hosting Plan and already had your site hosted there, you couldn’t design a site for one of your clients on that same account.

Now, with the Transferable Installs feature added, you are allowed to create and design an unlimited number of sites in your development environment. Then, when your client approves your website work, you can then push that site out to your client’s WP Engine account. If that client doesn’t currently have a WP Engine account, they will help them set it up. And, another benefit is that you as the developer will still have access to the transferred website, so you can continue perform additional work on it if needed.

Along with Transferable Installs, WP Engine has also added a Billing Transfer feature. When you transfer a site to your client, they are automatically billed for their hosting. You won’t have to hassle with invoicing the client for additional hosting fees—which gives you one less item to be concerned about, so you can focus more on developing websites for your clients.

We’ve seen a number of improvements in WP Engine’s hosting plans lately, and Transferable Installs and Billing Transfer are just some examples of how they are continually striving to be the leader in WordPress hosting.
