Is Go Daddy Any Good?

Go Daddy is one of the most well-known but also most controversial web hosting companies. Most people have heard of them and seen some of their television commercials. Unfortunately, being one of the largest players out there, Go Daddy has also received a fair amount of criticism and complaints. In the past, I’ve found Go Daddy’s site loading time to be less than ideal. Also, I’m not thrilled about the lack of live chat support. While Go Daddy offers many web hosting options, I prefer to use them just for domain registration and management.

Go Daddy is the largest domain registrar out there, and I do really like their domain management interface. If you’re going to have quite a few websites online, I think it’s much better to purchase and manage your domains through a separate company such as Go Daddy rather than buying your domains through your hosting company. Go Daddy often has bulk domain sales and you’ll have a lot more flexibility managing your domains separately from your web hosting.

I’ve heard some say that the speed of Go Daddy’s DNS is less than ideal. Personally, I haven’t noticed any significant slowness with my domains there. While there may be a faster option available, I’m very satisfied with Go Daddy’s domain management.
