iPage vs Fat Cow

At first glance, this might seem like an unusual comparison as both of these web hosting companies are part of The Endurance International Group umbrella of web hosts. However, having personally used both iPage and Fat Cow, I can attest there is a distinct difference—at least with my experiences.

Both iPage and Fat Cow can be considered budget web hosting options as they offer some of the lowest price deals on their hosting plans. And both web hosting plans provide an abundance of features to host and maintain your website. You also get plenty of free marketing tools to promote your sites. In fact, the hosting plans at iPage and Fat Cow are pretty much identical—again not surprising as they’re both part of Endurance.

Since it’s logical to conclude that iPage and Fat Cow use the same data center and support center, you would think the results would be the same. But for whatever reason, I found the support at Fat Cow to be unacceptable. In contrast to that, I’ve always found the support of my iPage account to be fine. I also prefer iPage’s control panel for installing applications. I find it a lot more intuitive and streamlined than Fat Cow’s interface. Also, I found the sign-up process at Fat Cow to be a hassle as they pre-selected some additional services that I didn’t want. I finally did get the charges removed, but it took some doing.
